Are guests able to come ashore? Do I have to provide guest access?

Shore access is not included by default and is entirely at the host’s discretion. State your policy clearly in the listing. Report violations to help@onbuoy.com; misuse can lead to suspension or fines for offenders.

As a host in the OnBuoy community, you have complete control over whether guests can access the shore from your moorage.

Out of respect for the privacy of hosts, by default, moorages listed on OnBuoy do not permit shore access. OnBuoy clearly emphasizes to guests that shore access is entirely at the host's discretion. Therefore, you are under no obligation to provide shore access to your property.

If shore access is appropriate at your location and you choose to provide it, you’ll want to clearly outline your policy on shore access within the moorage description. You can state that shore access is unavailable or mention any specific limitations (e.g., access only to specific areas).

OnBuoy acknowledges that your property is private, and you have the right to determine the level of access you wish to grant. OnBuoy prioritizes promoting a community that respects your privacy and allows you to manage your moorage according to your preferences.

OnBuoy takes disrespect for others’ property very seriously. If you encounter a problem with a guest on your moorage, contact us immediately to report the incident. A member of the OnBuoy crew will investigate the incident and take appropriate action with the offender.
