How does OnBuoy handle "squatters" (i.e. unauthorized use of a member's moorage)?
Willful unauthorized use shows disrespect for owners. If identified, vessels and owners are suspended immediately, with potential fines or permanent removal after investigation. Report incidents with photos for swift action.
One of the great things about the boating community is that we look out for one another and are considerate of others out on the water. Misunderstandings happen and anyone can make an honest mistake, but willfully tying up to someone’s buoy or a private dock without permission shows disrespect for the owner of that moorage.
OnBuoy takes disrespect for others’ property seriously. If a vessel is found to be squatting on a member’s moorage and OnBuoy is able to identify the squatting vessel, the vessel and the owner of the vessel will be immediately suspended from the community and, pending an investigation, may be assessed a fine or permanently expelled from the community.
