I made a request but was denied. Why?
Denials are uncommon and not a reflection on you. Common reasons include host schedule changes, temporary unavailability due to repairs, or request details not matching listing requirements (e.g., size or draft). Review criteria and dates, then try alternative options or message the host for clarity.
While we strive to make the reservation process on OnBuoy as smooth as possible, there can be occasional instances where a reservation request is declined. Regardless of the reason, please know that this decision in no way reflects on you. Here are a few common reasons why this might happen:
- Host's Unexpected Schedule Change: Sometimes, unforeseen circumstances arise for our hosts that can conflict with your reservation dates. This could be anything from a personal commitment to unexpected maintenance needs.
- Moorage Unavailability: In rare cases, the requested mooring or dock might become unavailable due to unforeseen damage or necessary repairs. Hosts typically maintain their moorages in top condition, but occasional issues can arise.
- Reservation Requirements Not Met: It's important to ensure your reservation request aligns with the specific criteria set by the host for their mooring or dock. This could include size or weight limitations for your boat, or moorage availability.
We understand that a reservation denial can be frustrating. However, please rest assured that it's not a reflection on you.
