Offering shore access

Hosts decide whether to allow shore access. By default, guests cannot go ashore unless granted permission. If you offer shore access, specify rules and restrictions in your listing. Clear policies help set expectations, protect privacy, and prevent misunderstandings. OnBuoy enforces respect for property and investigates any policy violations.

We understand that your property is private, and the level of access you grant to guests is entirely up to you. By default, OnBuoy listings don't include shore access. We clearly inform guests that this is at your discretion.

If you choose to provide shore access, though, it's important to clearly outline your policy within the moorage description. Be sure to specify the following:

  • If shore access is unavailable altogether.
  • Mention any restrictions you may have (e.g., access to designated areas only, specific hours).

Here are some examples for your listing description:

  • "No Shore Access" (Simple and clear for no access)
  • "Limited Shore Access Available: Guests may access the small beach area to the west of the moorage." (Specify limitations)

If you encounter issues with a guest disregarding your shore access policy, don't hesitate to contact OnBuoy immediately. We take disrespect for your property seriously and will investigate the incident, taking appropriate action with the guest.
