We require bank account information for two reasons:
- To securely distribute your payouts: Your earnings land directly in your bank account thanks to Stripe*, a trusted payment processor used by millions of businesses worldwide. This ensures a faster and safer transaction compared to other methods.
- To verify your identity: Sharing your bank account information helps us verify your identity and protect our community from fraudulent activity. This builds trust and ensures a more secure experience for both hosts and guests.
As an alternative to entering bank account information, OnBuoy provides an option for hosts to donate their proceeds to one of the local marine charities we work. You can read about how to do that here.
